Temperate Deciduous Forests are one of the few biomes that have four distinct seasons, winter, spring, fall and summer. There are mild summers and winters where the temperature averages around just below freezing. rapid weather changes, from cold to warm and from wet to dry most rain in the spring and summer
The latitude range is anywhere from 23 degrees north to 38 degrees south. Temperate Deciduous forests are located in North America, Europe, Asia, Australia and a few in South America.
Rainfall in the Temperate deciduous forests averages 30-60 inches (77-152 centimeters). There is about 14 inches of rain in the winter and 18 in the summer. Compared to other biomes, as seen in the picture, the temperate deciduous forest is only exceeded in rainfall buy the rain forest.
The average temperature in temperate deciduous forests in the summer is about 70 degrees Fahrenheit (22 degrees Celsius). Temperate deciduous forests average at a little below freezing in the winter, at about 30 degrees Fahrenheit (-1 degrees Celsius). Annually the average temperature is about 50 degrees Fahrenheit (10 degrees Celsius) this is colder then most of the other biomes.
