Fauna:
Maple trees usually grow 10-45 meters in height. There are
around 128 species in existence, most are native to Asia. The flowers on a
maple three have four or five petals and can be red, green, yellow, and orange
depending on the season. Maples have an opposite leaf structure. The Canadian
flag prominently shows the Maple leaf
Oak trees grow 8-100 feet in height and 3-4 feet in diameter. They usually live around 500-600 years. They don't drop dead leaves until the spring. They grow acorns, which fall and provide food for forest wildlife like squirrels and chipmunks along with other animals. Their wood is used frequently for flooring and furniture. The maple tree is one of, if not the most common tree in the United States.
The deciduous Elm tree averages about 43 meters in height. They first appeared 20 million years ago in Asia, where they grow along with other places around the world. Their leaves have double serrate margins. The most common diseases elms face are the Dutch elm disease and elm phloem necrosis. Elms are mostly used for their wood.
